Getting Involved: Help Make a Difference

Committees, Chavurot, and Programs for Everyone

It’s easy to get involved at Temple Emanuel. We have programs for every age and level of interest. For example, we celebrate Martin Luther King with a special Shabbat Service every year and invite our friends from the African-American community, we build homes for Habitat for Humanity, and we hold pulpit exchanges with different churches. Brotherhood serves food at the Greensboro Urban Ministry night shelter once a week and Sisterhood raises money for battered women’s shelters.

The Religious School kids participate in Urban Ministry’s annual Feast of Caring and annual Tzedekah projects. Our Mitzvah Day focuses on doing good deeds throughout the community. Our Social Action Committee hosts special political and social forums throughout the year.
