1. The Sisterhood is hosting a PMS Brunch (Pamper Me Sunday Brunch) on Sunday, December 7, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Jefferson Campus Social Hall. We invite you to come and enjoy a morning of pure relaxation – manicures, massages, makeovers, yoga, nutrition advice and fabulous food. The entry fee (payable at the door) is $5 for Sisterhood Members and $10 for Non-Sisterhood members. Watch your mail for more information.
2. Temple Emanuel is pleased to present Doug Mishkin in concert on Saturday, December 13 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 for adults, $18 for students, and all proceeds will go to the March of the Living Scholarship Fund. Doug Mishkin is one of the Jewish community’s preeminent singers for social justice, appearing at hundreds of concerts and programs across the country.
3. Save the date for the Senior Chanukah Luncheon: Thursday, December 18 at Temple Emanuel’s Jefferson Road Campus. Watch your mail for an invitation.
4. Temple Emanuel is pleased to present a Classical Trio Soiree “Folksy and Fiery” on Saturday, January 10 at 8:00 p.m. featuring: Lauren Winkelman on the piano, Janet Orenstein on the violin, and Brooks Whitehouse on the cello. The program will include the famous and colorful "Dumky" Trio of Dvorak, which is full of melodies inspired by Czech folksong, and the Shostakovich E minor trio, which draws on Hebrew melodies in a way that is powerful and haunting. A dessert reception will follow the concert. Cost is $25 for adults and $18 for students with ID. All proceeds will go to the March of the Living Scholarship Fund.
5. A Raffle to Smile About! Win a Comprehensive Orthodontic Treatment (some restrictions apply) worth up to $6,750 donated by Dr. Mark Katz. Tickets are $100 each and are available at Temple Emanuel and will be sold during Religious School on Sundays. Only 100 tickets will be sold!
6. Orders are now being taken for the new Prayerbook for Shabbat and Weekdays, Festivals and other occasions of public worship. Cost: $50 per book with name engraved on the front and a plate inside with donor’s name; $40 per book with plate inside with donor’s name. 1. Creators, Producers, Writers and Stars of the record-breaking Off-Broadway and national smash hit show, JEWTOPIA, Bryan Fogel and Sam Wolfson, will be coming to the Linda Sloan Theatre on the campus of Greensboro Day School on Sunday, December 7 to celebrate the Greensboro Jewish Federation's 2009 Campaign Kickoff. The World of JEWTOPIA, a one-act show, is a multimedia extravaganza combining scenes from their hilarious show, stand-up comedy, and excerpts from their best selling book, JEWTOPIA: The Chosen Book for the Chosen People. 2. MAKE A SENIOR’S CHANUKAH BRIGHT!! An easel is in the foyer of the Temple with Matnat Mitzvah (Mitzvah Gift) tags. Please take one of the tags, purchase the requested item and bring it to the Temple to be wrapped and delivered to a senior in one of the assisted living or nursing homes in Greensboro.
