Services
Shabbat services are held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings at Temple Emanuel. On the first and third Fridays of the months, services begin at 8:00 p.m. and are followed by an Oneg Shabbat. On the second, fourth and fifth Fridays of the month, services begin at 6:30 p.m. and are followed by Kiddush and Motzi. Shabbat morning services are held on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m., except during the summer months. On the second and fourth Fridays of the month we also have a Tot Shabbat. Families with young children are encouraged to attend this brief age-appropriate service in the Jefferson Campus Chapel. Most services are held at the Jefferson Road campus. On the first Friday of every month services are held in our historic Greene Street Sanctuary. Please check the monthly Temple Bulletin to find out about service times and locations. Join us anytime!
Special services are held throughout the year at Temple Emanuel, such as the Martin Luther King Shabbat, Shabbat Across America and the Marriage Reconsecration Shabbat, as well as holiday services for Sukkot, Chanukah, Passover and Shavuot. Tot Shabbat services for families with Pre Schoolers are held twice a month. Yizkor (Memorial) services are held four times a year, on Yom Kippur and during Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot. Shabbat services are open to the entire community; however, tickets are required for High Holiday Services. Please call the Temple office for the High Holiday Service schedule or to inquire about tickets.
